Drs. Byrne and Corti at the Powell Gene Therapy Center of the University of Florida, Department of Pediatrics, are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to be involved with cutting edge studies in muscular dystrophy and inherited ataxia. These studies emphasize both basic and translational research. The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular and cell biology with expertise in tissue culture and animal models of muscle and neurologic disease.
The qualified candidate will be involved in AAV mediated gene therapy research in small and large animal models for neuromuscular diseases such as Friedreich’s Ataxia, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Pompe disease.
The ideal candidate should have a recent Ph.D. with a strong background in molecular biology. Candidates with knowledge in AAV research will be favored.
The Powell Gene Therapy Center at the University of Florida is a pioneer in gene therapy and the primary mission is to merge molecular genetics research and health care by developing new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of human diseases that involve gene transfer. This is an excellent training environment with potential for extensive collaboration among researchers within and outside the University.Advertised Salary:
$47,476 - $50,000 commensurate based on qualifications and experience.Minimum Requirements:
