JOB SUMMARY:


Manages career development programs and workshops for students and alumni. Delivers career-related programs for all students. Collaborates with Housing, Leadership and Greek Life to provide specialized programming to help students capitalize on work and life experiences. Directs graduate assistants and interns. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


40% - Essential - Career Counseling Program Management: Provides career counseling and workshops to students and alumni. Administers and interprets career interest inventories and prepares action plans. Counsels individuals on career decision making, the four year and graduate student career development plan, the job search process, resume development and interviewing techniques. Stays abreast of career information resources, with special emphasis on resources available through the Career Development website. Manages Career Resource Center Career Counseling and Workshop staffing. Writes confidential reports on each client after counseling session. Establishes and reviews policy and procedures for the Career Development area to ensure conformance with State, Federal and institutional guidelines. Develops and implements Career Development program objectives and outcomes.

25% - Essential - Personnel Management: Manages and evaluates graduate students and interns. Ensures staff are well-versed in career development procedures, administration and interpretation of career interest inventories, and the use of and Internet resources.

25% - Essential - Marketing: Assists in coordinating and designing the marketing of career development resources. Markets career services with an emphasis on career development through presentations, workshops to student organizations and community members, articles in the student newspaper, mass e-mails, brochures and flyers. Collaborates with other Student Affairs professionals, academic advisers, and faculty in the design, development and implementation of career center programs.

10% - Essential - Student Program Management: Coordinates programs for Residential Life, Leadership, and Greek organizations with special emphasis on four-year career developmental plan. Manages, creates, trains, and staffs programs such as career workshops for CU 1010 and BUS 1010 classes, Diversity Networking Night, and under-served student programming.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
