Job Description Summary

Provides oversight of clinical course content and activities of the STNA Program. Schedule clinical rotations and provides advisement and counseling to STNA students.



Job Responsibilities

Provides oversight of clinical course content and activities of the STNA Program

Schedules STNA student clinical rotations

Advises, counsels, and provides feedback to students on proper documentation and clinical skills techniques

Administers competency testing to STNA students

Reinforces the instruction provided by faculty by utilizing a variety of learning modalities in the labs

Manages online record-keeping system, per state requirements, to ensure program and students meet and maintain compliance standards; communicates changes to the state as needed

Serves as the primary point of contact for the STNA program

Maintains and develops current clinical sites while also assisting with seeking and securing new sites for the students and serves as a liaison between the clinical sites and instructors

Assists with the recruitment of candidates for STNA instructors

Responsible for onboarding and orientation of new STNA instructors

Develops and maintains the STNA class schedules for all campus locations

Effectively interprets state requirements to assist with the program's compliance efforts

Manages the preparation of records and labs for surveyor site visits

Maintains STNA database within the Ohio department of healthcare system

Develops and maintains departmental spreadsheets and databases to track and report student outcomes

Works with department staff and/or NATCEP PC to schedule state STNA exam dates

Provides a full range of program support

Assists in the development of policies related to the STNA program

Assists in recruitment and marketing activities for the program, including attending job and career fairs

Provides formal STNA instruction each semester, and covers instructor absences when necessary

Assists with student instruction in various STNA labs as needed

Participates in program and division committees and maintain current and accurate records as needed

Performs other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Current, active, unencumbered/unrestricted RN license

Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience coordinating and/or managing an STNA program

Must have valid driver's license with the ability to regularly travel to and from various clinical sites

Completion of the "Train the Trainer" program completion for STNA

Eligible to teach according to the state of Ohio Department of Health Requirements

Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Possess strong organizational and time-management skills

Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to promote student success

Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

Possess working knowledge of STNA concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Demonstrated intermediate project management skills

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
