About The Unit:

Unit Job Summary: Performs AV support and production activities as needed including classroom technology support, video and audio recording tasks, including advanced editing, digitization and incorporating graphical enhancements. Setup and operational knowledge of professional audio and video hardware in a professional production setting. Provides additional support to the Audio Visual Services team in media classrooms, equipment rental operations, faculty and staff support, training & tutorials, and troubleshooting of Extron configurable control systems. Basic maintenance and install of media classroom audio visual components. This position will also provide direct support to administrators and staff for conferencing and other interactive technologies.

Unit Education: Technical certification or bachelor's degree in a technical/AV-related field, or work experience totaling at least three years of AV-related education or experience required.

Unit Experience: Minimum one year of experience supporting live events required. Experience working with Final Cut Pro required. Experience working in non linear audio editing software required. (Pro Tools preferred) Experience working in an educational setting preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Proven history of effectively supporting a wide range of clients required. Must have strong familiarity with the correct configuration and use of microphones, audio mixers, projectors, professional-grade video cameras required. Must be capable of planning, testing, and executing an AV design in support of a live event required. Professional and patient customer service attitude, including the ability to understand customer needs quickly and explain technical topics to a non-technical audience required. Outstanding communication and collaboration skills required. Ability to take initiative and learn new technologies without extensive direction required. A record of reliable and responsible performance required. Ability to work normal business hours required. Ability to work in high-pressure situations required. Able to manage multiple priorities and competing projects under supervisory direction required.
