We are currently seeking a Trainer Faculty Development who will advance the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.

The Opportunity

You will be working with educators who are committed to refining and innovating both their classroom and online teaching methods and approaches. You will be in the position to provide faculty with the supports to ensure faculty integration and use of technology in all aspects of teaching and learning in order to achieve student success. Apply best practices in teaching, instructional design and development, and pedagogical theories and processes to all faculty professional development and training seminars developed and presented. We are looking for an exceptional pacesetter and innovative thinker who will collaboratively design, develop, facilitate, and assess educational programs for our exceptional faculty.

SUMMARY

To design, develop content for, facilitate, monitor and assess educational programs which will ensure faculty gain the knowledge to proficiently perform their jobs and achieve student success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and assist with curriculum development and resources for faculty including webinars, videos, and documents.

Provide a variety of professional development opportunities in one-to-one, small group, and large group settings to faculty concerning teaching and learning that emphasize active learning.

Assist with the development and production of both online and face-to-face professional development and training seminars for new Canvas LMS tools.

Coordinate and deploy all communication initiatives with and for HCC faculty.

Maintain all documents and handbooks which are provided for HCC faculty.

Develop new professional development badges (competencies).

Promote effective integration and use of technology in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Apply best practices in teaching, instructional design and development, and pedagogical theories and processes to all faculty professional development and training seminars developed and presented.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in adult education, curriculum and instruction, teaching or a related field is required.

Master's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years related experience in developing and delivering training programs required.

Additional two (2) years' experience teaching in a field related to curriculum and instruction or teaching preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must possess working knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional systems design methodology (such as ADDIE), and higher-level learning evaluation models (I.e. Kirkpatrick's five levels of evaluation)

Knowledge of learning management systems (such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard)

Excellent organizational abilities required

Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation, and diplomacy skills required

Excellent group facilitation/training skills required

Able to use and develop in Windows and Macintosh environments as well as various browsers

Excellent knowledge in the use of Microsoft Suite products

Able to work with a diverse population
