UMIT’s Systems Infrastructure department is seeking a Systems Administrator responsible for handling the day to day operations of the backup and recovery environment. Must be familiar with multiple backup applications: IBM’s Tivoli Storage Manager, Dell’s vRanger and Microsoft’s DPM. The responsibilities include: server monitoring and maintenance, client/agent installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance; troubleshooting of nightly backup failures, coordination of offsite tape rotation, backup and restore requests, standard and forensic deletion requests and automation of common tasks; whenever possible. It also entails: providing assistance with the deployment of new servers, automation of server operations, server performance analysis and tuning, implementation of industry best practices, development and testing of DR/BC strategy, testing and implementation of new technology and documentation of policies and procedures.

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
• BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration, or related field required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
