A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Department of Radiology at Stanford to lead an NIH-funded collaborative project on ultrasound/microbubble-mediated drug delivery in cancer (with special focus on liver cancer) including ultrasound image guidance, cavitation monitoring, and its translation toward patients. The candidate will perform studies involving engineering, design and implementation of a drug delivery platform for guided drug delivery. Highly motivated and self-starting individuals who enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams are encouraged to apply. The postdoctoral fellow will enjoy mentoring by two faculty members of the Department of Radiology at Stanford: Dr. Willmann, MD and Dr. Dahl, PhD.

Candidates with a doctoral degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering or related fields are welcome to apply. Strong knowledge in biomedical ultrasound, deep understanding of the principles of ultrasound imaging and physics, experience with beamforming), and strong computational skills (including Matlab) are required. Additionally desired but not necessary qualifications are: experience with the Verasonics Research Platform; transducer calibration (hydrophone); cavitation detection/imaging; frequency domain analysis (FFT); and high intensity focused ultrasound. Also, the candidate should have good communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
