The Department of Biological Sciences and Geology at Queensborough Community College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting Spring 2018.

The successful candidate will teach courses in first year general biology and/or biology for non-majors.
Duties include: teaching, research, and mentorship to undergraduate students. The successful candidate will participate in departmental and college activities including committees, course and program assessment, curriculum development, and seek intra and/or extramural funding. The Assistant Professor will be required to demonstrate scholarly activities including research for tenure and promotion.
The Biological Sciences and Geology Department offers programs of study in Health Sciences, Medical Assistant, Pre-Professional Studies, Pre-Nursing Curriculum, Geology, and required biology courses in Massage Therapy. The department facilities include 15 state-of-the art laboratories with multi-media projection equipment, as well as two laboratories dedicated to research along with a core facility in modern instrumentation. Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences. Prior teaching experience in an undergraduate academic setting, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
- Experience in teaching entry level year-long general biology to science majors at an undergraduate institution
- Experience in teaching diverse student populations
