Neurology Faculty - Headache Medicine
The University of Colorado Denver Headache Center is seeking current Headache Medicine fellows or Headache specialists for an available faculty position in our growing Headache/Pain center. Our center is thriving within the nationally recognized Neurology department.
Our program's close collaborators include the University of Colorado Hospital's (UCH) shared Infusion clinic, the UCH Pain/Spine clinic and Neurosurgery (for the recently developed Concussion program. We also work together with the Headache clinic at the Children's hospital to assure smooth transition of adolescents with headache to adult care. We offer comprehensive patient care including an extensive referral network for cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, psychiatry, pain management, Wellness center. In office procedures include Botox injections, nerve blocks, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks.
Our Headache Medicine fellowship was accredited by UCNS in 2014.
This new faculty person would be responsible for and benefit from the following:
- Seeing patients at the University of Colorado Outpatient Anschutz Medical Center and UCH satellite clinics
- Teaching Headache medicine to Headache medicine fellow, neurology residents, other rotating residents and medical students
- Participate in current research or developing individual projects with the assistance of established and highly efficient research coordinators group; our Neurology department has approximately 120 ongoing clinical trials and various opportunities for basic science research.
- Clinical projects may include developing Headache Medicine Telehealth Program, improve collaboration with the Emergency Department and our Neurohospitalist group for headache care.
Applicants should be a Board Certified/Eligible Neurologist who has completed fellowship training in Headache. A State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date.
A record of previous or current research funding is highly desirable.
