Department Summary: As part of the Division of Information Technology at BSU, the Administrative Systems Team supports mission-critical business systems. The team also provides analysis, design, and system support for campus business-related systems.

Position Summary: The Administrative Systems Analyst shall assist the Director of Administrative Systems in needs assessment, analysis, installation, configuration, design and maintenance of one or more of the University's information systems. This is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Essential Duties: 1. Assumes complete technical responsibility for one or more of the University's information systems including analysis, design, installation, integration, upgrades and enhancements. 2. Configures and deploys new administrative systems and integrates them with Banner. 3. Assists in maintaining and expanding the University's reporting platforms. 4. Under the direction of the Database Administrator, this position may assist the DBA with SQL tuning and upgrades. 5. Maintains connectivity between Banner and related systems. 6. Evaluates user needs and makes recommendations for enhancements or modifications to assigned systems or processes. 7. Provides technical support and consulting services to users of assigned systems and reporting tools. 8. Coordinates systems interfaces with other members of IT and the user community. 9. Develops and maintains complete documentation for each assigned system. 10. Designs, maintains and oversees the operation of production runs for assigned systems. 11. Develops specifications for tasks that are assigned to programmer/analysts, programmers and student interns and reviews the results of their work. 12. Actively supports the University's initiatives of Diversity & Social Justice. 13. May require some evening and/or weekend work to resolve critical system outages and for software and/or database upgrades. 14. Additional responsibilities as directed by supervisor consistent with rank and position.

Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree required. Computer Science, MIS or related field preferred. 2. Minimum 2 years' experience in computer programming and systems analysis working on complex applications required. 3. Minimum 2 years' experience with Oracle databases and tools required. 4. Minimum 2 years' experience with SQL or PL/SQL required. 5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people of varying technical ability required. 6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially in a team environment required.

Preferred Qualifications: 1. Java experience preferred. 2. Demonstrated experience with Ellucian Banner software applications, including the Operational Data Store, BDMS, Travel & Expense, Degree Works, Recruiter, or related technical experience in higher education preferred. 3. Demonstrated experience with Evisions Argos or other BI platform preferred. 4. Demonstrated experience with application deployment and integration in a higher education environment preferred. 5. Demonstrated experience with writing SQL queries and programs in Toad or similar tool preferred. 6. Shell scripting experience in a UNIX or Linux environment preferred.

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
