The Organizational Development (OD) Manager will report directly to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources and will have primary responsibilities for the design and implementation of programs, policies and procedures to support the organizational structure and development initiatives for the University of West Georgia (UWG).
The primary functions of Organizational Development Manager include career development support for leaders and staff employees, change management efforts, and training and development planning that aligns with the strategic plan, core values, and objectives of the university. The OD Manager will be responsible for staying current with related federal and state laws as well as applicable policies for UWG and the University System of Georgia. In addition to maintaining a knowledge base of established practices, concepts, and strategies within the field, the OD manager is expected to seek continual professional development opportunities that will broaden the strategies and approaches available to UWG. This position will also work in concert with vendors and consultants to provide technology as well as programming efforts. The OD Manager will also support activities associated with EngageWest, UWG’s transformative culture initiative. EngageWest activities that this position will support include, but are not limited to, assisting with the development and delivery of the annual engagement survey, orientation for new staff and faculty, performance management, EngageWest Staff Edition, Emerging Leaders, EngageWest Fellows, and supporting efforts associated with the Leadership Development Institute as required.
The OD Manager will be expected to develop and maintain a professional network to assist in carrying out the duties and responsibilities. The network should include UWG campus partners, University System of Georgia partnerships, and value-added professional organization partnerships.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Human Resources or Organizational Development. Five (5) years experience in human resources, training, and development, or related field. Demonstrated experience in human resources, organizational development, or training and development required. Demonstrated experience developing and delivering leadership or development programs required.
Master’s degree in human resources, organizational leadership, management, or related field. Experience leading change management efforts a plus. Experience working with job classification systems would be beneficial for this position. Previous experience in higher education preferred.
Salary $54,204 minimum to $83,854 midpoint
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position works within normal office setting with sedentary conditions and limited lifting. The position will be expected to coordinate and assist with the program set up which may include limited lifting, bending, and walking for long periods. Walking and travel required for activities such as attending meetings on campus and professional development opportunities outside the university setting.
