Position Summary:
Equal Opportunity & Title IX. The Civil Rights Investigator assists in resolving complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-related violence, including stalking and intimate partner violence, and protected class discrimination and harassment involving undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff of the University.

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with campus policies regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, discrimination, and harassment to conduct investigations of complaints by students, faculty and staff.
  • Conducts prompt and thorough investigations.
  • Acts as a neutral party in investigations.
  • Provides detailed, unbiased investigative reports regarding the findings of investigations.
  • Creates and facilitates training and educational programming throughout the campus community.

    Minimum Education Required:
    Bachelor’s Degree

    Two or more years of related work experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases and successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Preferred Education:
    Juris Doctor or similar advanced degree in a related field.

    Preferred Experience::
    Two or more years conducting workplace or higher education investigations related to protected class and/or employment issues.

    Salary Range: $42,698 - $53,388
