General Summary:
Supervises, plans, organizes, develops, coordinates and evaluates services and program for student with disabilities.

Job Specifications:
Master's degree in a related field and a minimum of one year experience. Prior experience working with students requiring specialist accommodations in a college setting. Experience in the delivery of outreach programs that serve various student populations. Ability to understand, interpret and implement academic and college policy and collective bargaining agreements. Ability to interpret appropriate accommodations based on documented needs of the individual student. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to troubleshoot on behalf of the students. Ability to use assessment of data to improve the quality of student services. Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students and external constituents. Experience with relational databases and Microsoft Office. Ability to convey and implement expectations of good customer service to staff. Ability to read, understand and interpret a psychological or neuro-psychological report. Knowledge of the laws governing students with disabilities for post-secondary institutions.

Job Duties:
1. Evaluates and maintains confidential disability documentation.
2. Serves as liaison between students and faculty to ensure that students with disabilities are receiving appropriate academic accommodations.
3. Serves as resource for faculty, administration and staff with regards to students with disabilities; provides training on disability issues to faculty and staff.
4. Hires, evaluates and supervises supportive services staff to ensure that appropriate services are provided to students with disabilities.
5. Interviews students with disabilities for intake information, reviews and evaluates documentation and determines appropriate classroom and program accommodations based on test results and doctor's reports.
6. Analyzes problems, recommends and implements solutions ensuring legal compliance.
7. Serves as the campus contact for issues regarding compliance with ADA.
8. Monitors academic progress of students and provides interventions such as developing specialized programs and campus referrals as needed.
9. Maintains statistics and confidential student files including disabilities documentation and case notes.
10. Develops evaluation process for existing procedures to improve service delivery and maintain consistency across the College.
11. Researches, monitors and updates assistive technology.
12. Develops specialized programs in coordination with academic departments.
13. Processes medical withdrawals for students including reviewing submitted information and communicating the status to the student.
14. Presents information regarding supportive services, types of services available and how to access the services to high school students and parents.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
