ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $18,229 - $25,978, Band 02, SC State Classification System

HOURS: 11:30am to 8:00pm Mon-Fri

CAMPUS: Barton  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will support the Custodial Services department at Greenville Technical College.  Duties may include any or all of the following:

-Lead custodial activities in assigned areas.  Actively participate in custodial activities with crew members or work independently as assigned by supervisor.    

-As assigned by supervisor, conduct facility inspections. Ensure that sub-standard findings are corrected. Ensure behavior/conduct problems are corrected. Incumbent will when necessary, generate disciplinary documents in accordance with department and college policies and procedures.  

-Ensure all custodial closets are properly stocked and are maintained in an orderly manner. Ensure all custodial equipment and supplies are functional and available for custodial activities.  

-Participate in interviews and select the most qualified applicant for open custodial positions. Train new custodians in the proper performance of their duties  

-Assist department supervisors ensuring compliance with all college policies and appropriate federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations  

-Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
HS diploma + 2 yrs related work experience; or 10th grade education + 3 yrs related work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment used in large commercial/institutional facilities

 -Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.  Ability to lift 30 lbs without assistance.  

-Ability to organize and lead a group of custodians in general cleaning activities as well as special projects that may be assigned by department supervisors.  

-Valid South Carolina driver's license.
