The Department of Geology & Geography invites nominations and applications for the position of limited-term instructor of Geology.

Within this setting, the department offers undergraduate degree programs in both geology and geography. In addition, the minor in GIS attracts students from a range of disciplines.
Position Description. Reporting to the department chair, the limited-term instructor of Geology position will teach laboratory and introductory level lecture sections of Physical and Environmental Geology. The limited-term instructor will also have service duties in the department, which may include committee assignments, attendance at open house and recruiting events, and assisting with student organizations. All limited-term positions are non-tenure track, academic (9/10 month) year appointments. Appointments are for one year only, although there is the possibility of reappointment should funding permit and based upon satisfactory performance. (All reappointments are made on a one year basis.) The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• Earned master's degree in Geology or a closely related field by August 1, 2017. The candidate must have earned at least 18 graduate semester hours in Geology prior to appointment.
• Ability to teach laboratory and introductory level lecture sections of physical and environmental Geology.
• Willingness to attend open house and recruitment events.
• Ability to work with student organizations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution.
• Experience preparing physical and environmental laboratory sections.
• Experience with undergraduate tutoring for physical and environmental laboratories.
