Director of the Learning Commons
In conjunction with the Associate Provost for Student Success, the Director of the Learning Commons will establish the vision for Roosevelt’s newly established, centralized tutoring and learning space. The Director will: recruit, hire, train, evaluate and mentor undergraduate tutors for a broad range of academic subjects; collaborate with faculty for tutor recommendations and integrate curricula and pedagogy into tutoring services. The Director will coordinate online tutoring, create the tutoring schedule and will collect and manage data in order to assess students learning outcomes. This position works closely faculty and staff across the campus to foster student learning and success in the Learning Commons.
This is a full-time exempt position that reports to the Associate Provost for Student Success.
Minimum Qualifications: Proficient in the one-to-one and small group instruction, as well as office management and post-secondary pedagogy with a wide range of subject areas.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
A Master’s Degree in a related field
A minimum of 2 years experience working in higher education.
Experience working as a supervisor and mentor.
Experience with hiring and training tutors.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
A positive and professional demeanor is a must.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
