Job Summary: 

The Front-End Developer is responsible for maintaining and improving the end user experience on Roosevelt University web sites and other applications. The Front-End Developer will ensure implementation of UI and UX standards on existing sites, design and develop solutions for new projects, and keep the University community informed about trends and emerging best practices in the field. As part of a small and nimble web team, the Front-End Developer will also participate in user testing and research, provide support to a team of content editors across the University, and work closely with the University’s Marketing team to uphold brand standards.

The Front-End Developer will multitask between regular tasks requested, small projects, work as a team on larger projects, and will have the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with members throughout the University.

This is a full-time exempt position and reports to the Assistant VP of Web Development.

Working Hours: 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 5 years experience in front-end development.
Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript required; experience with JQuery preferred.
Demonstrable expertise in designing and creating standards-compliant, accessible user interfaces.
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite required.
Experience with ASP.NET, Team Foundation Server (TFS), Visual Studio, Windows server environments, and the Sitecore CMS preferred.
Ability to effectively convey and monitor technical tasks; organize, coordinate and manage multiple projects; communicate technical information in clear, understandable, non-technical terms.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
