Assistant Athletic Trainer
(Professional Services Specialist 3)
 

Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, Team physician(s) and other qualified medical personnel, the Assistant Athletic Trainer assist in the development and implementation of preventative treatment; short and longterm rehabilitation programs of athletic injuries; and education and counseling of student athletes. The assistant athletic trainer also conducts pre-participation physical examinations; develops treatment records and injury evaluations; and management of athletic injuries in emergency situations.

Duties include:

  • Providing student athletes with athletic training services for home contest (nights and weekends required)
  • Overseeing athletic training room operations
  • Participating in first aid training

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • National Athletic Trainers Association Certification
  • New Jersey State licensure through the State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Valid driver’s license
  • One year of athletic training experience in an educational setting (preferably working with collegiate athletes)
