In this challenging role, you will support the Vice President of Economic Development & Corporate Training by serving as the Department Head of Healthcare (Non-Credit Programs) at Greenville Technical College.  

The Healthcare Department Head must possess outstanding proven leadership skills and evidence a record of accomplishments resulting from the application of exceptional communication skills.  As an academic leader responsible for inspiring the department to the highest levels of academic quality, duties and expectations may include all of the following:  

-Providing educational management and leadership for exceptionally qualified and committed faculty and staff to achieve excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, student success, faculty and staff development, and community engagement.  

-Administering fiscal, plant, and personnel resources with a strong sense of fiscal and personal accountability with a focus on revenue generation.  

-Assisting in the maintenance of programmatic accreditation standards and state policies in programs.  

-Developing and sustaining relationships among key industry leaders to help assure career pathways and curriculum are on target to meet workforce needs.  

-Collaborating with the Health and Wellness Division Dean and colleagues from across campuses and from multiple areas of the college to develop, support, and promote opportunities for student engagement, experiential learning, service learning, and career pathways for non-credit students.  

-Setting direction for policy development and inspiring forward thinking development of new programs.  

-Championing process improvements while setting expectations for uncompromising service excellence and encouraging informed risk taking.  

-Showing academic and personal integrity in advocating for students, faculty, and staff through demonstration of a strong commitment to the value of diversity and a sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

Bachelor's degree + 4 yrs related training development program experience.


-Licensed RN.

-Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or a health related field.

-Excellent communication skills.  

-Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees and plan for future stability and growth of department.

-Working knowledge of program management of health care classes including course development of entry and advanced level programs.

-Ability to make internal and external presentations and prepare reports.

-Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations from government healthcare associations and accrediting bodies.
