Essential functions of this position:
The Director of Leadership and Talent Development reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources; serves as one of three operational directors in Human Resources; and exercises fully delegated responsibility for the design, development and execution of a comprehensive talent development program; management of the Onboarding Center; administration of the Performance Management program including employee and supervisory development; and Employee Recognition programs.
N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Graduation from a four-year college or university preferably with coursework applicable to HR management, human relations and/or business administration and four years of directly-related program development and personnel management experience demonstrating competencies needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Bachelor’s degree in a related Human Services discipline and five years of experience related to the area of assignment, or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Position requires advanced, professional level knowledge of human resources functions including employee services, talent development, and employee recognition programming
Thorough knowledge of adult education training and the application of these in both principle and practice
Thorough knowledge of the management structures and their services
The ability to collect data, assess needs and to provide alternatives to managers and employees
Ability to use professional judgment in decision-making
Ability to identify resources and to manage the utilization of the most cost effective and efficient application
Recruitment Range: $68,495 - $77,247
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 78
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday
