As Director of the Institute for Organizational Psychology:

  • Promote TCS brand through consulting work using MAIO student interns and PhD student consultants when appropriate
  • Develop client relationships
    • Be prepared to work with clients that other faculty has referred to IOP (typical model of business)
    • Utilize fulcrum network listing and partner with incubators in the area for more clients
    • Use marketing and sales methods for proactive business management as needed
  • Hire Interns each semester
    • FWS allows for two paid interns, but a third unpaid intern can also be hired (depending on the amount of work for the semester)
    • Leverage the skills and interests of the interns in order to create work that will be beneficial for them
  • Maintain and update IOP website and blog
    • Obtain permission to use first semester IO students white paper from their PD classes
    • An edited version with an abstract of 150-180 words will be needed to post them on the IOP blog
  • Work with TCS CE Coordinator to organize upcoming SHRM CEU sessions
    • Find speakers utilizing the PhD candidates, faculty and alumni currently working in the field
    • Vet content through faculty to ensure the course is valuable and will be able to be certified
  • Assist department with the new student orientations each semester and utilize time given to the IOP Director to promote the brand/firm
  • Coordinating and supervising IOP Interns to properly execute set up of events
    • Organizing and proofing presentations
    • Logistics: room reservations, preparation, and set-up
    • Administrative work: printing out manuals and requested documents
    • Promotion of events: TCS T.V. announcements, social media, and email blasts
    • Attendance in seminars and possible report write-ups

Skills Needed
  • Applicant should have completed a PhD in Business Psychology or related field
    • The Chicago School Business Psychology students can apply after completion of dissertation proposal

This is an exempt position at $20,000 annually for 20 hours of work per week
