RESEARCH ADMIN COORD

Duties: This individual will be providing biospecimen services to the scientific community. Working in a clinical environment, this position will involve tissue collection and processing including sectioning and standard histological procedures; Label samples and assist with specimen inventory and tracking; Communicate with biorepository users regarding protocols and sample availability; Ship and track biosamples per IATA regulations; Maintenance lab equipment; Coordinate work flow for project related activities in a team environment; Maintain records and documentation for lab and bench activities. Will require travel to multiple locations. Special projects and other duties as needed.

Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Histology skills or experience with molecular laboratory techniques preferred, other technical skills a plus (i.e. aseptic technique or cryopreservation); A working knowledge of medical terminology and medical experience either in a clinical and/or research setting is required. Experience with phlebotomy and/or molecular laboratory techniques a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills required; Knowledge of IRBs and Human subject protection regulations; Requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Applicants must have effective problem solving abilities, strong multitasking, organization and time management skills. Must be detail-oriented, accurate and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment; Some evenings, and weekends as needed. Rotating responsibility for late and on-call schedule. Valid driver's license required.
