Duties: Reporting to the AIS IT Technical Director, provide leadership and operational management of data integration services for enterprise and school/center/department level business applications and is accountable for development and continued evolution of data integration strategies. Develop data integration standards and best practices; mentor staff on the use of data integrations, tools and techniques; conduct reviews of integration efforts to ensure consistent methodologies are followed. Provide leadership in planning, implementation and ongoing support of integrations between systems, including but not limited to the Student Records/Registration, Human Capital Management and Penn Community systems. Develop innovative solutions related to integrations between applications, budget and estimate IT efforts; provide overall management of budgets. Oversee and ensure project management for the deployment of in-house developed, vendor purchased and externally sourced/cloud solutions, identifying necessary skill sets and deploying the most appropriate resources for given tasks, as well as managing other team leads in the performance of resource management activities. Manage application development staff as well as contractors (3 ongoing resources).
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of experience working in a large-scale administrative computing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work as an effective leader in support of University and ISC objectives; ability to interact and communicate effectively with non-technical personnel as well as professional Information Technology staff. Must be self-motivated, and be able to multi-task and function in situations with changing priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills. Proven success in planning and implementing integration architectures and designing integration solutions. Experience with cloud-based design for high availability and scalability; must be able to effectively lead and manage a team of technical resources (Architects, Developers, and Analysts) to build and support integration solutions; Demonstrated competence with relevant development methodologies (i.e., agile) and technologies (i.e., Databases, Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Web Services, Enterprise Service Bus, ETL, APIs, and Micro-services.) Must be able to participate in on-call rotation.
