General Summary: The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for Part Time Library Assistant - Circulation & Access Nights & Weekends. This position will be responsible for circulation and access services delivered to faculty, staff, and visitors at the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega Campus library on weekend, evening, and some weekday hours. The position reports to the Library Services Coordinator Access Services Nights and Weekends

Job Duties & Responsibilities: This position will:
  • Assist students, faculty, staff, and community patrons in person or by telephone with check-in and check-out of library material, registration, patron account in Voyager and Banner and reserve.
  • Provide directional and basic information about library and university services.
  • Resolve patron account disputes and makes referrals as appropriate.
  • Provide collection management project support/report maintenance.
  • Shelve books and other materials, shelf reads , and shifts books as needed.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and monitoring the safety and security of library users, library property and facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have working knowledge of integrated library system (OPAC), and application software such as Microsoft Office and basic office equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications and capacity to interact positively with all levels of university community.
  • Initiative and good judgment as a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Two (2) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to stand push/pull book trucks up to 100lbs max, lift up to 25 pounds.
