Visiting Assistant Professor, Early Modern European Art

Description of Department/Program:
The Department of Art and Art History (AAH) consists of two programs, in art history and in art practices, both of which embrace diversity and place value on interdisciplinary inquiries. With respect to art history, the program has made a concerted effort to approach the discipline from a global perspective, considering a broad range of art making practices, with particular emphasis on situating the art of the Americas within a global framework. In addition to maintaining active publishing records, our eight art historians have received funding from numerous national granting institutions, including the Fulbright Foundation, the Getty Foundation, the Kress Foundation, the Millard Meiss Foundation, and the NEH. The art historians are committed to a multicultural approach to their discipline.
Overview of Job Duties:
The Department of Art and Art History at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Early Modern European art, preferably with expertise in global exchanges, beginning August 2017 through May 2018. The teaching load will be two courses per semester, including one graduate-level seminar during the academic year. Applicants should hold a PhD at the time of hire, with teaching experience and publications highly desirable.
