Degree and Area of Specialization:
The successful candidate shouldl have a terminal degree in medicine, nursing, law, philosophy or another related discipline relevant to bioethics. Seeking candidates whose work focuses on clinical ethics and who has recent experience in clinical ethics consultations. Interest in leadership and development of a bioethics program is also welcome.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Scholarly research record and teaching experience preferred with experience in clinical consults and other ethics activities. Appointment at the tenured level requires record of proven record of excellence in teaching, research and service.
License or certificate:
None required for non-MD candidates. If the successful candidate is a practicing MD, they must be eligible for Wisconsin medical licensure.
The Department of Medical History and Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seeks applications for a tenure track assistant or associate professor of clinical ethics. We are seeking a colleague with an active research program, experience in clinical ethics consultations and teaching experience in bioethics with medical students, residents and faculty.
