Assistant/Associate Professor, Accounting
The Accounting Program at Rowan is ranked the third best accounting program in the State of New Jersey out of 50 programs by the Accounting Degree Review. The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance. In addition, at the graduate level the department offers concentrations in the MBA program in Accounting and in Finance and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Accounting.
The Rohrer College of Business, which is accredited by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) , has approximately 1,700 undergraduate and masters’ level students. Princeton Review ranks the College of Business as one of the nation’s best 295 business schools. Bloomberg Businessweek ranked the College undergraduate program as 112 in the nation for 2016.
Within the department, the accounting program looks to enhance the integration of computing technology skills through curriculum and pedagogical development, while continuing to build the accounting, leadership, analytical and communication skills that the profession demands. This new faculty line will enable us to introduce new courses, enhance existing course offerings, and continue to build partnerships with employers and regional businesses.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, maintaining an active research agenda in a related area and in support of quality teaching, participating in assurance of learning activities, mentoring upper division students, engaging actively in department, college, university, and professional service, and participating in business outreach activities. Teaching assignments may include principles, intermediate and advanced courses in financial accounting and managerial accounting, as well as international accounting and taxation; however, qualified candidates in all areas of specialization are encouraged to apply. Courses are offered using various delivery modes, including traditional classrooms, hybrid, and online.
Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution by August 31, 2018 is required.
Excellence as a teacher and demonstrated potential as a researcher are sought, and a professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA) is a plus. Prior experience in graduate and online teaching is desirable.

The Department of Accounting and Finance is one of three academic departments within the Rohrer College of Business, which is AACSB-accredited. The other two academic departments are the Department of Marketing and Business Information Systems, and the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship. As of Spring 2017, there were approximately 535 undergraduate accounting majors. Significant enrollment growth has been experienced in the major, as well as across the Rohrer College of Business and Rowan University. We expect continued strong enrollment and growth at all levels. The Rohrer College of Business moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art building in January 2017.
Rowan University is a public comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 17,300 students. Its main campus is located in Glassboro, N.J., 20 miles southeast of Philadelphia, with additional campuses in Camden and Stratford. The University comprises seven colleges and five schools: the William G. Rohrer College of Business; the Henry M.
