General Summary of Position:
The Digital Media Program at the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is searching for a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach a course in screenwriting. The position requires proficiency and experience to fulfill this role for undergraduate level courses in film and TV.
Digital Media is a dynamic, growing minor program located within the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore the theory and practice of media as it is being produced on the ground today. Students in the Digital Media Program are engaged in a structured, hands-on program that also relies on a well-established theoretical background. Students are exposed to a wide variety of media platforms spanning from online multimedia production to TV and film making.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The Faculty Member will:
-Report and maintain communication at all times with Program Director regarding all academic & teaching related matters
-Teach screenwriting courses for fiction and nonfiction as assigned
-Stay current with industry practices and techniques
-Design and deliver class instruction through the development of instructional plans that meet course learning objectives
-Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement
-Promote student success by showing flexibility in style as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process
-Manage the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing UMass Lowell's academic and attendance policies

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-Earned MA/MFA degree in Screenwriting/Media Field (Must have degree at the time of application)
-Two years of teaching experience at the college level
-Portfolio of creative work
-Broad knowledge of screenwriting, film, TV and general media related issues
-Strong understanding of current technology, tools and equipment available for this discipline
-Solid knowledge of related software
