Human Resources Service Center Associate

The Service Center Associate provides operational support and high quality service for both the human resources department internally and Emerson employees externally.
They are responsible for general HR operations and response to inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, employment and human resources policies. The Service Center Associate will be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within all HR functions.
This position provides high levels of problem-solving employee issues and serves as a facilitator of information between employees and HR policies and processes.

Campus Location: Boston Campus

Required Knowledge:
•2-3 years Human Resources experience, PHR desired.
•Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
•Ability to work independently under general supervision.
•Perform a variety of tasks in a timely manner
•Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
•Basic math skills.
•Attention to detail.
•Dedicated to problem-solving and providing the highest level of service possible.
•Solid understanding of general employment laws relative to job function
•Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
•Must be adaptable to the needs of clients and the HR organization.

Job Duties:
  • •Process all new hire transactions including enrollment in employee benefits. •Review and verify benefits enrollment and change transactions. •Respond with high levels of customer service to basic employee benefit inquiries, and troubleshoot discrepancies or concerns on behalf of the employee, also serves as liaison between employees and HR functional areas. •Coordinate paperwork, data entry and, tracking of leaves of absence. Serves as point of contact for all leaves, and administers, tracks leaves in Banner. •Responsible for general employee services and employment lifecycle transactions. •Assist in creating the onboarding program while acting as HR mentor to new hires •Entry of terminations and status changes in Banner ensuring coordination with Payroll •Process unemployment claims and employment verifications •Coordinate new hire orientation as part of onboarding. •Build relationships with all levels of assigned organizations. •Maintain all employees’ benefit files ensure that benefits materials are updated as appropriate. •Create Banner affiliate records as needed. •Run standard weekly and monthly reports related to new hires, terminations, status changes, temporary staffing and leave of absence reports. •Other duties as assigned
