Duties: The Gene Therapy Program (GTP) is entering a new era of unprecedented opportunity with great potential to reshape the face of medicine as we know it. Our discoveries have set the stage for successful treatments and possibly even cures for devastating genetic diseases. Our R&D organization has a translational infrastructure that includes: technology discovery, specialized immunology assays operating under GLP, a Vector Core/Manufacturing unit that conducts GMP comparable work, and a large non-clinical program for animal testing under GLP including large NHP and rodent vivaria.

Our Vector Core is currently looking for a Resource Technologist B to join our GLP Quality Control (QC) Testing group.
As a Resource Technologist B, you will work closely with your team to conduct and qualify QC assays under GLP to determine quantity, quality and/or potency of viral-based vectors that are produced for IND-enabling studies and human phase I clinical trials. You will be responsible for conducting PCR-based (qPCR, genome tittering) and cell-based potency (ELISA, Western Blots) assays on viral vectors, as directed by the Associate Director; you will follow a batch record/protocols and clearly document results in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) standards; troubleshoot issues under the advisement of manager; and interact closely with research QC, assay development, and vector manufacturing groups at GTP.

Joining GTP offers scientific professionals the unique opportunity of seeing research go from bench to bedside and discoveries that could one day lead to cures.

Qualifications: *B.A./B.S. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or in adjacent field with strong scientific background and 3-5 years of post-degree bench laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
*Should have experience with molecular techniques such as PCR & qPCR, cell-based potency assays (ELISA & Western Blot), mammalian cell culture
*Must have the ability to follow protocols and methods
*Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) desired
*Outstanding interpersonal interaction skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, problem recognition and solving, and organizational skills required
