The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). A Temporary Instructor provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Teaching and departmental/school service expected.
This is a temporary, benefited position for 10 months August-May (beginning and ending with that FY academic calendar). It is a temporary, non-tenure track position.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Teach 12/12 load at all levels of the graduate and undergraduate curriculum and in online and campus-based formats.
Teaching will typically focus on starting or bringing innovations to a program but can extend beyond the parameters of the program to meet needs of the assigned college and may also include team teaching to support sharing of innovative blended learning methods with staff and faculty.
Contribute to faculty development, mentoring, and training responsibilities focused on blended learning.
Advance interdisciplinary connections and partnerships.
Develop strong connections between the program and the OKC metropolitan area and UCO Downtown.
Promote growth in courses, undergraduate and graduate programs, and student learning experiences.
Serve on department, college, university, and Center for eLearning committees as requested.
Work in a collaborative, professional, collegial manner with colleagues and professional peers.
Teach, advise, and mentor students, evaluate student performance, and maintain department and student records in accordance with university policies.
Demonstrate commitment to working in an environment devoted to transformative learning, professional development, scholarly inquiry and excellence in teaching.
Participate in department, college, university, and Center for eLearning meetings that relate specifically to faculty.
Prepare departmental reports as requested.
Adhere to the educational philosophy of the university.
