Clinical Instructor, Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pathology-Forensic Pathologist
The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a forensic pathologist. The duties of this position include Medical Examiner, teaching residents, medical students, graduate students, undergraduate students and advancement of the field of Forensic Pathology.
Appointment on the clinical track as Deputy Medical Examiner in Boone, Callaway and Greene County is anticipated. The successful candidate will likely be assigned to our recently completed state of the art morgue facility in Springfield, MO to serve as Greene County Medical Examiner.
Our program has extensive opportunities for discussion of cases with other forensic pathologists in the group including daily discussions of cases and weekly review of cases using telemedicine. Anticipated workload is 200-250 postmortem examinations. The forensic pathologist in Greene County is responsible for on-site supervision of death investigators and forensic technicians. The forensic pathologist in Greene County will also participate in the medical school branch in Springfield.
Prospective candidates must have an MD, DO, or MD/PhD, be qualified for an unrestricted Missouri medical license, and be board certified/eligible in anatomic and forensic pathology by the time of appointment.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
