Position Summary

This is a lead position with the primary purpose to provide specialized administrative and programmatic support to the Graduate programs in the Department of Kinesiology. This includes serving as the lead administrative support for the Department Graduate Programs requiring extensive programmatic and information records knowledge; this includes providing administrative support to assist the Director of Studies in program management, maintenance of student files and other documents, accessing student data files and data bases for requested information, serve as application processing coordinator for graduate applications, being primary information source for graduate faculty on graduate processes and procedures, maintenance of graduate information resources, and other document and report generation (50%). This person will also be the primary contact, communication conduit and source of information for prospective and current graduate students which also requires extensive programmatic and information records knowledge, excellent oral and written communications skills and use of technology (20%). This person will manage, process, track and reconcile graduate assistantships, tuition waivers and awards which requires substantial knowledge of personnel and budgetary policies relative to graduate student employment and awards, and the ability to effectively communication with various offices on campus. This also requires that graduate assistantship application materials and credentials are complete for TA credentialing (20%). Finally, this position will provide general administrative support to the Director of Graduate Studies, Department Chair, and faculty. This may include administrative support for faculty and staff searches, general office support for faculty, and assisting the department chair and office manager on occasion with select budgetary and personnel administrative support, including processing travel, purchase requests and reimbursements (10%).



Minimum Qualifications

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY; OR DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK.
