Junior Surgery Laboratory Manager (Clinical Sciences)
General Description of Position: The Department of Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for an unclassified position for a Junior Surgery Laboratory Manager. Job Description: The successful candidate will plan, organize and direct work in the small and large animal junior surgery laboratories. This position includes monitoring inventory levels and procuring specimens, animals and equipment. Interacting with the public in establishing and maintaining relationship with local shelters is vital. Significant teaching and evaluating of veterinary students is involved along with departmental research projects in technical and logistical support roles. Required Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have completed a two-year college program in veterinary or animal technology accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Five years of experience in animal or veterinary technical support, with at least two years of experience teaching students is required. Other requirements include being registered as a paraprofessional under the authority of Kansas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners upon employment.
