Fresh Start Instructor - Adjunct
Tacoma Community College (TCC) is pleased to invite applications for Fresh Start Instructor – Adjunct. This recruitment is a pool to be used for future vacancies. This position is responsible for preparing and providing instruction for the Fresh Start 100 course, which is designed to increase student competence with navigating through formal education and career settings. This position reports to the Director of K-12 Partnerships.
The Fresh Start Instructor will use a variety of instructional strategies and resources appropriate to the needs of young adult learners ages 16-21 to facilitate learning. The position will assist students in setting, documenting, monitoring progress toward and revising meaningful personal and educational goals as well as maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance and achievements.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, or closely related field from an accredited college or university, experience working with individuals from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, six months or more teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary setting and intermediate experience with word processing, Internet use, and email. This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis.
