Position Summary:

The Transition Advisor serves as part-time, ten month administrative liaison between Anne Arundel County Public High Schools (AACPS) and Anne Arundel Community College (AACC). The Transition Advisor will be based on-site at an assigned county high school and responsible for developing a collaborative relationship with school counselors, teachers, and staff. In addition they will provide classroom presentations and support for early college initiatives through outreach and related partnership activities. The Transition Advisor will provide assistance and support in career planning and academic advising and in high schools where AACC classes are offered on-site, the Transition Advisor will provide assistance and support to the college student support services staff.

Salary Range: $23,042-28,803

Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in teacher education, school counseling, school administration, social work or psychology required.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an educational setting with responsibilities related to teaching, administration, advising, student outreach and public speaking.

Experience working with high school students, teachers and staff.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to provide group presentations to a variety of audiences.

Ability to work independently as a college employee in a high school with attention to details, accuracy and deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet and email.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and related information.



Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred

Ability to interact with a variety of faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds
