Job Description:

The Admission Department at Wittenberg University is recruiting for a full-time Admission Counselor/Assistant Director.

The position will primarily matriculate the incoming freshman class for assigned regions which includes traveling to high schools and college fairs; corresponding with students, families, and guidance counselors; interviewing students on and off campus; and reviewing applications.  The Admission Counselor/Assistant Director will also serve as admission liaison to the athletic department.

Other essential functions include, but are not limited to:  

  1. Research demographics and plan for recruitment cycle in the regions assigned.
  2. Coordinate the travel schedule for the region by responding to college fair invitations, studying past history, and keeping a master calendar.
  3. Review applications for admission from students in the region.
  4. Interview candidates for admission and scholarship.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree, 1- 3 years of relevant work experience, and a valid driver's license are required.  We are looking for candidates with demonstrated excellence in writing, oral communication and oral presentations; knowledge of and an enthusiasm for a liberal arts and sciences education; proven ability to organize and follow through on projects; information technology competency; willingness to travel; and evidence of the ability to establish rapport easily with a wide variety of people.
