The West Virginia University (WVU) School of Nursing plans to offer its 4-year BSN program on the WVU Potomac State College (PSC) campus beginning in fall 2018. The School is seeking to fill the position of Department Chair for this program which will be housed at PSC. The Department Chair will assume the authority and responsibility for all administrative aspects of the department and will report directly to the Dean of the WVU School of Nursing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: providing leadership in formulation of the department administrative policies; assuming a leadership role in strategic planning for the department and participating in strategic planning for WVU School of Nursing; preparing and managing the departmental budget in consultation with the Dean, the faculty members and WVU PSC Chief Business Officer; collaborating with the School of Nursing’s Associate Dean of Academics and Director of the BSN program in implementation of the WVU nursing undergraduate curriculum at PSC; assisting in preparation of State Board of Nursing, CCNE reports and other reports as needed; assisting PSC in introducing the first BSN program offered on the campus; and updating and informing PSC campus president regarding general status of operations and progress/development of any major issues within the PSC nursing department. The WVU School of Nursing BSN program at PSC is contingent upon receipt of the necessary approvals from the West Virginia Board of Nursing.

  Qualifications   Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience


  • West Virginia RN License (unencumbered)
