Job Description Summary

This position performs accounting duties in support of the college’s payroll and accounting functions.

Key Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Key Responsibilities

• Completes all payroll related maintenance, including tax updates, general deduction additions and changes, time and labor additions, accrual adjustments, and extra compensation
• Processes all off-cycle payrolls and manages Time & Labor submissions
• Reconciles payroll liability accounts monthly and submits payments
• Reconciles continuous audit monthly and submits salary portion to State Department of Audits annually
• Assists employees with payroll related issues
• Process all payroll accounting interfaces
• Attends conferences and training sessions
• Updates and maintains payroll website
• Assists state auditors
• Manages joint-staffing
• Manages the Asset Management System
• Performs related duties
