Duties: Be part of a multi discipline research team conducting HIV vaccine trials.
Serve as an outreach recruiter for HIV vaccine research studies, seeking to test potential HIV vaccines to prevent HIV. Knowledge of HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment preferred, as is experience working in a research setting. Primary responsibilities include participating in recruiting for HIV vaccine research studies and distributing study specific recruitment materials to designated venues throughout the Philadelphia area. Skilled at engaging in informal conversation with potential research subjects in the field adhering to confidentiality/privacy protocols. Conduct eligibility telephone screening assessments for potential research subjects, and responsible for maintaining connections on social media sites where research studies are advertised. Interpersonal skills are required. Organizational and administrative skills necessary as duties include checking and preparing recruitment materials and equipment, ability to accurately collect contact information of potential research participants and maintain recruitment files and professional phone etiquette. Work for this project will be conducted on university campuses throughout Philadelphia and multiple neighborhood venues where potential study participants congregate, as well as, in-office eligibility screening of potential research subjects.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experiences working with diverse racial/ethnic populations and young adults especially who are members of the LGBTQ communities preferred. Knowledge of HIV and AIDS or Volunteer experience in HIV prevention, street outreach or similar work with the target population is helpful. Must have the ability to engage members of targeted communities in informational, non-judgmental discussions about HIV, HIV prevention, vaccines and participating in research.
Experienced in social media strongly preferred. Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
