Posting Summary:
The Department of Medicine is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. The successful candidate will perform the following functions: lead financial analysis, budget, and reporting initiatives for the Department; implement budget, revenue and expense allocations as part of the strategic financial plan; collect, analyze and report accurate and timely data to ensure operational goals are met; manage special financial projects and serves as manager of the consolidated financial reporting and analysis system. Qualified applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or accounting and a minimum five years of experience working in financial management, analytics or business related field to include the following: advanced knowledge of financial principles and analytical techniques including five (5) years of experience working with fund accounting, GAAP and GASB, and financial management for non-profit or state entities; detail oriented individual with a minimum five (5) years of experience leading IT/finance/operational cross-functional projects, and developing presentations for senior management; advanced skills using Excel and Access with minimum five (5) years of experience performing data mining, constructing database tables, building queries and reports, and working with power pivots, Qlik, or equivalent statistical tools; and knowledge of Oracle or similar financial database systems including a minimum of five (5) years of experience working with database systems and data models. The ideal candidate will have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), strong analytical skills, financial reporting experience, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include an MBA with an emphasis in finance or accounting. Experience in a healthcare related setting, in-depth knowledge of accounting, finance, financial reporting systems, and knowledge of policies and procedures in a state-funded higher education system are also preferred, as well as proficiency in Oracle Financial Modules, Discoverer, and Clarity.
