The University of Delaware invites applications and nominations for appointment as a full professor with tenure in the Department of Political Science and International Relations (http://www.poscir.udel.edu/) We seek a scholar of American Political Behavior/Political Psychology, with a particular focus on quantitative methodologies.
The Department of Political Science and International Relations (POSCIR) within the College of Arts and Sciences has 26 full-time and jointly appointed faculty, nearly 800 undergraduate majors and minors and 45 graduate (mostly doctoral) students. The Department offers two undergraduate majors (Political Science and International Relations) and two undergraduate minors (Political Science and Political Communication) as well as a Ph.D. in Political Science. The department faculty covers four subfields of political science: American politics (including public law and U.S. foreign policy), comparative politics, international relations and political theory. The faculty is a methodologically diverse and collegial group of research-intensive and nationally and internationally known scholars. They are outstanding teachers, mentors, advisers and public servants.
The Department seeks a tenured full professor with an exemplary record of scholarship and teaching in American political behavior/ political psychology. The successful candidate will be a nationally and internationally recognized senior scholar with a strong record of graduate student and junior faculty mentoring,a strong record of grant-writing success, and an interest in actively building the quantitative American politics capacity in our methodologically diverse department. We are particularly interested in scholars whose research concerns: (1) the dynamics of public attitudes and behavior (2) the political psychology of racial, ethnic, gender, and other social identities; and/or (3) electoral processes and representation.
