We are seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor Clinical Chemistry to begin Fall 2017. The successful candidate will have an earned doctoral degree, such as a Ph.D. in clinical chemistry or related biomedical science, relevant postdoctoral experience and documented productivity. Primary responsibilities for this position include teaching clinical chemistry courses, lecture and lab. Other teaching responsibilities include courses as needed in departmental undergraduate and/or graduate core curricula. The individual will be expected to develop and maintain an active, funded program of research, and participate in committee service within the university and profession. Active participation in the mentoring of undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. students is required. We seek a candidate who will complement our current strengths in research and teaching. Undergraduate teaching experience, especially in Clinical Chemistry, is desirable. Practical experience in the field of Clinical Chemistry and national certification (ASCP, NACB, ABCC) is strongly encouraged. Ranked second, nationally, among the best places to study the health professions by College Factual, the College of Health Sciences is a thriving academic unit of over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 110 faculty with outstanding research and teaching facilities. The College also includes the departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Physical Therapy, and the School of Nursing. With annual research expenditures of approximately $16 million, the college currently houses a number of large, interdisciplinary grants with significant funding from the NIH and DoD. There are also numerous collaborative linkages with our clinical partners.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Faculty at the University have regularly received annual cost-of-living and merit salary increases and the benefits package is one of the best in the nation. Relocation and start-up funds are available.Appointment date negotiable (usually August 15th.)
