Summary of Job Duties
This is a full-time support position devoted to conducting research (field and laboratory) for the fruit program. Activities include management of fruit research plantings, data collection, and data analysis. The employee will assist with the preparation of reports and manuscripts of research results along with assistance in a range of other reporting and record-keeping duties. The employee will need to be physically capable of taking part in field-plot maintenance. Some hourly and appointed employee supervisory duties will be involved.

B.S. in Horticulture or closely related field. Computer operation is required including knowledge of a range of software including statistical analysis data. The employee will be required to attain a research and demonstration license for pesticide applications.

M.S. In Horticulture or related field. 2-5 years experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Computer operation including knowledge of a range of software including statistical analysis data. Required to attain a research and demonstration license for pesticide applications. Travel, including overnight, to other research locations in Arkansas. Strong background in plant field culture, particularly tree and small fruits crops. Valid driver's license, be able to lift 50 pounds, work in outside conditions in all seasons, and be able to walk for long distances.
