Position Information: Under the general direction of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Executive Director provides overall management, leadership and program direction for Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Case Management. The Executive Director is responsible for the assessment of student health and counseling needs; the development of programs and policies to maintain a fully accredited program; ensuring quality and culturally competent services; the management of a complex budget of approximately $14 million; the supervision of staff consisting of approximately 60 individuals in clinical services, psychological/mental health counseling, nursing, ancillary services, health promotion, administrative services; the maintenance and operation of facilities; ensuring compliance with policy, legal, ethical, regulatory and licensing requirements; facilitating the work of the Student Health Advisory Committee, and representing the department on division, campus and system wide committees. The Executive Director works in collaboration with School of Medicine Associate Dean as needed to address clinical concerns that may arise related to medical oversight provided by the School of Medicine. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring delivery of high quality, efficient, cost effective and coordinated services, that are responsive to and appropriate for the needs of UCR students, Health and Wellness partners, in concert with the missions of the Student Health Services (SHS), Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Case Management, the Health and Wellness cluster, Student Affairs organization, and the University of California.

Minimum Requirements: Advanced knowledge of health care administration and systems.
Knowledge of strategic funding of health care programs and operations, public relations, and marketing, fundraising.
Demonstrated advanced oral and written communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of business process reengineering, organizational planning and communications.
Highly experienced with demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
Advanced knowledge of the principles and practice of supervision and management.
Must be computer literate.
Highly experienced and skilled at planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating activities appropriate to the advancement of organizational goals.
In-depth understanding of policy issues related to higher education health care programs.
Skilled at managing workforce diversity issues.
Demonstrated ability in sound, sensitive, ethical, evidence-based decision-making and judgment
Ability to relate and interact with ethnically, culturally and socio-economically diverse populations.
Demonstrated skill in financial management within a healthcare setting.
Demonstrated familiarity with all patient privacy and confidentiality laws; healthcare laws, rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated familiarity with diverse medical, mental health, public health and other rising key issues in college health care.
