Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily processing and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate application types.
Assists with the daily processing and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate application types. Assists in ensuring that all applications are processed in compliance with established State and University procedures, rules, policies, and guidelines. Updates the student information database and the applicant's folder to reflect current test scores and status of academic records received. Serves as backup to assist in determining if academic records are official. Reviews the accuracy of applicant data submitted, such as matriculation level, term, address, colleges/universities attended, dates of attendance, major, and judicial responses. Assists with the electronic matching of test scores and transcripts. Maintains confidentiality of student records and assists in guarding against fraudulent data. Reviews and makes recommendation for initial residency classification. Assists in determining the completeness of an application.
Assists with the coordination and execution of end-of-term cleanup processes, to include: the posting of degrees, cancellation of files, and auditing of applicant data for accuracy and completeness.
Participates in special events hosted by the Office of Admissions and Records, such as counselor workshops. Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions and Records.

Qualifications

A high school diploma/equivalent and two years of experience related to the duties of this job; or a combination of post-high school education and related experience equal to two years.
Experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.
Experience prioritizing and organizing work assignments.
Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.

Preferred

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred. We seek enthusiastic candidates who are detail-oriented, organized and can work well independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, and should have a strong sense of initiative with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. Preferred candidates will be familiar with university admissions application processes, and should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Anticipated Salary Range

$22,498

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
