Come work for Utah Valley University assisting students as an Academic Advisor. In this role you will have the opportunity to participate in the delivery of academic advising services and programs that promote successful degree completion for all students. Responsible for an advising caseload. Meets the academic advising needs of individuals or groups of students. Monitors analytic s that inform student success, and provides strategic outreach to enable degree completion.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree plus one year
of experience related to Summary of Duties totaling five years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of student development.
Knowledge of higher education student advisement retention and completion
principles, techniques, programs and products.
Knowledge of and ability to apply current best practices in student development
theory.
Understanding of undergraduate education and undergraduate planning and
implementation.

Skills:
Skills in advising/counseling.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Effective analytical skills to collect, compile, analyze, and evaluate information.

Abilities:
Ability to perform under pressure and think quickly.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Service-oriented, diplomatic, and able to present ideas in user-friendly
language.
Ability to set a professional example in terms of expertise, work ethic, and
productive work habits.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer the Bachelor’s degree in science.

Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
No or very limited physical effort required.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

Benefits PT:

FLSA: Exempt

Pay Range: $31,554 - $42,072
