JOB SUMMARY:


Serves as the Social Media Strategist. Extends and grows Clemson's university social presence, builds meaningful relationships with communities and works to further the strategic mission of the university. Works as part of our Clemson University social team to tell the story of the university and grow the Clemson brand. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


E/40% Content Creation and Distribution: Works as part of Clemson social team to generate and share content on a daily basis that builds meaningful connections with appropriate audiences. Crafts messaging in university voice around research, stories and events. Work to collaborate with other university groups to streamline social editorial content calendar. Collaborates with Clemson Media services to add and optimize social content around university news stories.

E/30% Community Management: Responds to questions, provide feedback and be present on the other side of social conversations. Optimizes university social channels as use case for platforms and audiences evolve. Shares and helps to educate social community managers across Clemson.

E/30% Monitoring: Helps to monitor new accounts on campus to ensure coherent social brand. Works with Reputation Management team to monitor social chatter around Clemson. Researches, tests and experiments with emerging platforms and develop use cases. Compiles analytics for internal and external reporting.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A bachelor's degree and experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


JOB KNOWLEDGE
Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years' experience working in digital marketing and social media.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 07 ($ 48,622.00 - $ 55,100)
