Clark University’s Registrar’s Office seeks an experienced professional to fill the position of University Registrar. Reporting to the Provost and working closely with Clark’s academic leadership, the Executive Vice President and multiple other units on campus, including Information Technology Services, admissions, student affairs, athletics, and others, the successful candidate will ensure that policies, procedures and practices concerning student records and course enrollments are accurate, reliable, compliant, timely and secure. In addition, this position will have a special focus on building and maintaining a positive and productive working relationship with faculty, administration, staff and students. Duties and Responsibilities Included in a range of responsibilities, the Registrar is widely engaged across Clark’s campus, serving in various capacities on multiple faculty governance and institutional committees, including the institution’s data stewardship committee, the retention committee, the classroom committee. Working with faculty governance, the Registrar helps establish, implement and maintain policies concerning areas such as student grades and registration as well as the electronic academic catalog. The Registrar also serves as the institution’s FERPA compliance officer, is custodian for all student records and has final responsibility for their accuracy. Taking primary responsibility for student degree clearance, the Registrar plays a central role in Commencement. This position interacts extensively with faculty and staff across campus, organizes and facilitates training sessions as appropriate, and has responsibility for ensuring appropriate usage of classroom space, as well as completing other duties as assigned. The Registrar supervises an office of 5-6 fulltime employees and several student workers. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and 5+ years of progressively responsible senior-level experience. The candidate will be a creative problem solver with excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills, a high level of integrity and the ability to work constructively with diverse institutional stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, senior leadership and parents. The ideal candidate will have up-do-date knowledge of Federal, state and professional standards, policies and reporting requirements and will be an effective supervisor. Technical qualifications include a high level of technological and digital fluency, including data collection, stewardship, analysis and reporting (experience with Ellucian’s Banner is desirable). This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12-month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks’ vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
