This position is employed with the Florida State University Police Department
Performs 911 Police Dispatcher communications.
Maintains radio communication with all police officers, parking enforcement, sworn administrative personnel and investigators through the use of various radio equipment and computer software applications.
Operates the Florida Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center (FCIC/NCIC) teletype terminal to respond to requests for criminal information from police units in the field.
Performs administrative procedures and completes paperwork required for the successful operation of the Communications Center and the coordination of the departmental field activity.
Implements and performs all special and emergency procedures and coordinates units responding to emergency situations.
Receives information regarding persons of interest for use by officers in the field or for background investigations.
Acts as a liaison with other divisions of the University and with local and state law enforcement and judicial agencies, including the Sheriff's Office warrant unit as they require assistance with the apprehension of wanted persons on campus.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to one year. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to one year) Experience using personal computers. Good telephone etiquette, basic mathematical and excellent customer service skills. Must be able to work assigned schedule and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to use good judgment, differentiate emergency situations from non-emergency situations and handle confidential information. Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain.
Experience working in an office setting. Knowledge of and ability to apply related University policies, procedures, principles and practices. Ability to utilize existing police record computers and programs. Ability to develop, compile and implement reports, logs and training materials.

Anticipated Salary Range
The minimum salary is $25,312; salary will be commensurate with experience but will not exceed high $20s.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
12 - hour shifts on a rotating schedule
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
